Why Create a Rivalry Rage blog? --- Blog Post #1

As stated in the blog page description…we are new to the social media game. We have taken a concept and turned it into a published site on the web. The main reasons I have created this blog are four fold: 1) The blog allows us to share our journey with social media and sports fans, and may help someone avoid pitfalls we discover as they travel on their own journey to take an online concept to reality, 2) The blog provides a forum where we can learn from the world by receiving feedback and comments on what we’ve done right and what we’ve done wrong (we definitely welcome guidance and ideas…we are novices in this arena), 3) The blog helps me create a historical timeline of how we’ve progressed, and 4) I would be lying if I didn’t admit my hope to create fans of our Rivalry Rage website. As I type this on a beautiful Sunday morning in Colorado Springs, Colorado, we have been working this trash talking website idea for a little over two years. The initial post will provide past information of our journey, but I’ll catch up to current day in a very short timeframe. Once I catch up, I’ll provide weekly status of current efforts and events as we learn more each day. As stated above, we are not web or social media experts and are a living, breathing experiment on how 100% amateurs go from ground zero to…well, wherever we end up. Our knowledge of social media at the beginning of this journey was very close to zero but we are learning more daily through trial and error, reading great articles and books, and with the help from experts in the field we’re interacting with. We invite you to take this journey with us. We would love to hear your feedback both on where we have gone astray and where we have made sound decisions. I can assure you this journey has just begun. As I like to say in my engineering and defense contracting world, “We are an inch deep in a mile deep problem.” We welcome your inputs, guidance and feedback on the site as we move forward. As our tag line says, “So you’re a trash talker…Bring it!”
